An improving morning with clearing skies. Wind: S F2 becoming F3. Temp: 11 @ 0630, 12 by 0750hr. Visibility: >15km. Cloud: translucent ac / as 4ok. Pressure: gradual fall 1017hpa.
Moving Birds:
Meadow Pipit 121 > S
Swallow 114 > S
House Martin 50 > S
Sand Martin 1 > SE
Pied Wagtail 28 > S
Grey Wagtail 7 > S
Siskin 20 > S
Jay 20 > W (see below)
Redpoll 11 > S
Linnet 16 > S
Chaffinch 31 > S
Greenfinch 34 > S
Goldfinch 40 > S
Reed Bunting 5 > E
Skylark 1 > SW
Snipe 3 > N
Starling 54 > W
Goosander 41 > NE
Song Thrushes feeding in Clough and bushes alive with Goldcrests. The Jays all came in high from the east included a group of ten which dropped into one or the high trees before soon labouring on and off to the west. Most of the movement was before 0800hr.
