Members Only Watchpoint 14-10-2006
Saturday 14th October 2006
0715 – 0930hr. (DCB, JS)
Weather and Sky:
A deteriorating morning with little visibility turning into thick FOG. S F3 becoming SE F3, 10 degC, 400m becoming 100m, fog stratus with base at c1000ft asl, drizzle, 1030hPa steady

Redwings going over home whilst stacking the car in pitch black at 0620hr were thought to be the tail end of a nocturnal migration. Once at the watchpoint well above the cloudbase things were silent, dark and without definition with absolutely no moving birds today and no calls heard from moving birds in the fog – not even a Meadow Pipit. The thing that saved the day was an unseen grounded Ring Ouzel constantly "tac" ing from the horse field and the old buildings only a stones throw away – but still unseen!! You were RIGHT Bri, FOG rules today!…………

Moving Birds:
None

Other;
Ring Ouzel 1
