Rombalds Moor... 24-09-2009
Completed the full period today at Nab End. Arrived in position for 06.40.
Weather – broken, clear areas to the east and heavier cloud to the west. Between 9.00 and 9.15, cloud from the west spilled over and produced light drizzle for a few minutes. After a dry period, drizzle returned between 10.30 and 10.45 for only a few minutes again.
The wind remained from the west throughout, moderate to strong.
Period 1 – 06.40 to 06.55 MP 6
Period 2 - 0655 to 0755
MP 67, Chaffinch 2, Woodpigeon 1, Goldfinch 5.
Period 3 - 0755 to 0855
MP 114, Linnet 5
Period 4 - 0855 to 0955
MP 81, Skylark 2, BHG 1
Period 5 - 0955 to 1055
MP 64 plus hunting Sparrowhawk
The last 30 mins only produced 5 MP so things had finished by the time I left.
A Wheatear was present on site.
