Sand Martin influx...and more. 18-03-2010

According to all of the information sources available to me there has been an influx of Sand Martins today penetrating as far north as us here in Yorkshire. Worth keeping an eye out for passage groups and individuals on the move now....

Also Brian Sumner reports a movement of Wood Pigeons over Queensbury this morning... see:

for further details. Skype is a wonderful thing for keeping in touch and all for free!!

Things are "hotting" up!... what will the weekend bring?

Good to compare notes Dave and find the birds Im seeing at this end ,like the Woodpigs, were being seen across the map. Feels odd using Skype talking to each other via computer.

Agree Brian comparing vis is what its all about... as well as Andy and John, according to the net woodies moving increasingly over the last couple of days in N Norfolk as well, so will be interesting to see what happens Sunday as from the forecast tomorrow might well be wetish?

Skype, as I see it is both the in field watchpoint to watchpoint communication and from home to home voice communication tool of the future and all for free over the net... cant be bad at that, so might as well give it some stick when there is something to discuss. As we discovered way back with using the radios we can only learn by it?
