Oxenhope... blue and bitter! 27-11-2010

Ovenight Snow... petering out in the hills!... (c) 2010

Oxenhope, Bradford (W Yorks, England)
Saturday 27 November 2010
Counting period: 7:30-10:00
Weather: NE F3, -2degC, 60km, 8/8, QNH 1008 falling
Observers: Dave Barker

Moving birds:
Pink-footed Goose 291 -
Lapwing - 80
Wigeon 16 -
Starling - 1

Totals: 388 individuals, 4 species, 2:30 hours

Comments: A period of snow during the early hours left c15mm cover.. bitter cold but wildfowl and waders on the move... all high up. Three skeins of pinks SE and a skein of Wigeon W. The only passerine was a single starling NNW. Typically as I was leaving the sky was clearing and sun coming out!
