Merlin powered!.....
This Spitfire flypast brightened up a dismal vis watch this afternoon, fantastic and all thanks to John!.... Swifts very much in evidence once again... they will be worn out this year!..... if Google dont give me my Whoopers back, I may well have to change horses with the weblogs soon.... ps spot the bird.

Buzzard second from last?
Good man Stephen, thats what I would say looking at that and with the benifit of some other images in the same series which show a few different angles. I really wonder how close it is to the plane tho comparing the size to the pilots helmet... perhaps its just a little beyond? Dont want anyone thinking probability of interaction with low flying planes could be an other excuse to cul!!.... They are quite scarce in these parts.
You could be right, I was assuming it was a distance beyond being a little faint...
Further investigation and info suggests this one might be Griffon powered rather than Merlin but still looking at it.....
