Tuesday 3rd October 2006
0710 – 1100hr. (DCB)
Weather and Sky:
Initially low cloud and misting rain, soon clearing with wind swing from W to NNW. W F2 to Calm to NNW F2, 9 rising 12, 5km increasing 30km, low stratus breaking stratocumulus 4ok, 998 rising 1001hPa.

Initially a poor morning until the rain stopped except for low Skylarks battling on. Then on the calming and wind shift the first skein of 46 Pink Feet going east (thanks to Simon at Denhlome Clough) passed through, followed by a low Buzzard, some Dunlin, a Raven a Short Eared Owl and yet more Pink Footed Geese. There was a big influx of Jackdaw noted today and the mipits had shifted their main direction of travel back to the west suggesting the demise of the big south push. Albas also much reduced.
