Oxenhope Watchpoint 22-04-2007
0655 - 1055hr DCB / CK / HC / JS
W F3, 8degC, 10km, 8/8, 1016 steady
Again next to no mipits moving - I think we must have missed the "this years" spring wave by now? Swallows comming strong however and at the rate of c70 per hour north between 0900 and 1000hrs. An adult Hobby shot through low over the water, up the side of the moor and then to follow the ridge going fast west in the direction of Fly Flatts and a little later a couple of Cormorants went straight through over head north-west. A good sprinkling of Wheatears was around and working through past the watchpoint throughout the morning and finally a pair or Ring Ousel were located up and down on the broken walls along the side of the moor. All in all an interesting morning.
Moving Birds:

Mipit 7 > N
Hobby 1 > W
Alba 3 > NE
Cormorant 2 > NW
Sand Martin 2 > N
Ring Ouzel 2
Wood Pigeon 3 > W
