Ice Now Thawed 22-02-2009
Tufted Duck.... male and female (c) 2009
Goosander female (c) 2009
Pochard-distant bird (a montage).... uncommon west of Bradford (c) 2009
Hi Brian This one was at Redcar Tarn on Sunday morning.... a round robin tour, rather than the usual static stuff. Did visit the watchpoint but little doing and even less close enough to photograph... still cold and windy up there! After the thaw the road is soft and like a quagmire! The Pochard record for the watchpoint is 10 in one go on 14-02-1993 so I believe we are now going through the peak period for this species, always uncommon on our waters.
