Chapel on the Moor (c) 2009

Searching in the Gloom (c) 2009

Oxenhope, Bradford (W Yorks, England)
Saturday 21 November 2009
Counting period: 7:45-10:30
Weather: SE F3 increasing F4, 6degC, 60m, 8/8 deep fog and heavy driving drizzle, QNH 1013 falling 1011
Observers: Dave Barker

Moving Birds:
Common Gull 5 -
Starling - 6

Totals: 11 individuals, 2 species, 2:45 hours

Present: Black Redstart 1

Comments: A terrible virtually birdless morning throughout, with the only moving birds seen being a small squadron of Starlings low overhead ENE. The only bird seen on the deck was in view of past occurence interesting... a Black Redstart at and around the chapel! A few unseen Common Gulls were yik-ing at intervals in the fog overhead and Red Grouse were noisy on the moor.
