A dry night until after dawn and then showers moving NW to SE combining over the Pennines to give some heavy periods of rain. Improving pm to become bright and sunny. Little in the sky except that is for mipits after a day / period of unideal condition. Mipits as last night (and in other years) were really going for it, often at moderate height coming up out of the gloom of the valley and into the brilliance of the moor to the west! From arrival congregations were on the walls / pitchings and the like... all ultimately going off west. Loose groups started going over at c 1900 and seemed to peter out after c 2030hr... a total between these times was 96. The first juv Common Gull of the year was noted here tonight.

Moving birds:
LBB Gull 79
BH Gull 28
Common Gull 4
Curlew 6
Oystercatcher 2
Meadow Pipit 96
Swift 10
