Weather: wind West4, cloud-cover 8/8, visibility 20000m, temperature 13 ℃, Bad fractus 9ok eventually dissipating but wind picking up W F6 4ok, becoming 65000m, 15degC, QNH 1024 falling 1023

Comments: A warm morning but first hours obstructed by obstinate fractus before clearing and wind picking up. A dearth of passers but otherwise fine with conditions spot on for snipe with four parties detected, as always c W. A couple of well spaced high peres and a merlin making tracks east. Note we are starting to record all finches from today.

Comments: ..... START OF SECOND PERIOD. Little happening and still no passers. A very high Peregrine travelling south crossed the sky, cross wind at very high speed.

have you ever had Nuthatch on Vis,I had one today up near Stoodley Pike right out on the moor in a small hawthorn bush.It called once then flew off low over thew moor n/e..????
Very interesting Andy. We have never had Nuthatch on vis, either in the wood or as fly thro. Must bhave been a great experience. Very envious!
