Oxenhope.... "low" 06-07-2010
SW F4, 16degC, 65km, 8/8, QNH 1019 falling.
1845- 2100hr
Low in all respects tonight. Pressure falling since c0800 this morning when 1025hpPa. A bright but partially overcast day with a few spots of rain between 1700 -1800 as an inactive warm front passed through putting us now in the influence of another massive Atlantic low way out there and on a similar track to the last one. Despite it being dry the smell of rain was in the air. In comparison to last night, very little in the sky and not much on the deck... typical of these conditions here. Again not a Swift in the sky. Thus, thought I would draw stumps early but as I was walking back a small group of three passage Redshank dropped in from the east and a couple of well spaced groups of Curlew went high west.... was just coming away when the first Curlews came into the roost.
Moving Birds:
BH Gull 26
LBB Gull 146
Common Gull 2
Lapwing 15
Oystercatcher 2
Redshank 3
Curlew 21
Other:
Curlew 32
