Broken to scattered overnight and during am hours. Then reducing few during afternoon hours. Wind from easterly quarter all day, strengthening in pm. QNH rising then ridging 1010 late am then falling. Dry all day. Very little in the sky and definately backend of summerish. Sparrowhawks replacing the this year, huggins of Kestrels and becoming prominent over the uplands as passerines start to move through. Mipits moving west again but in slightly lesser numbers.... gulls showing signs of calming down with virtually all of the BHG's being juveniles. The masses of LBB Gulls for the last few weeks have been getting darker and darker presumeably with the proportion of intermedius getting more and more... tonight some very dark and interesting birds but no colour rings were in evidence. The sun seemed to be setting no sooner than I had settled down.... autumn is on the way!!
Moving birds:
BH Gull 31
Herring Gull 1
Common Gull 1
LBB Gull 109
Meadow Pipit 21
