Green Woodpecker 1 + 1juv with a juvenile, excellent views as they sat together in a Hawthorn bush.

1900 – 2045hr
A deteriorating evening with increasing cloud and reducing visibility. Wind: NW F2 rising 3. Temp: 16. Visibility: initially, Elslack Moor / Drax. Cloud: alto cumulus / cumulus mediocrisb 3ok, developing to become cu sp + cu congestus 6ok. Pressure: falling 1013.


Few gulls in the area with most of those present moving on after a short stay. A Green Sandpiper initially heard approaching over the water left > NW. A compact group of c 25 Swallows passed fairly low > SW at 2012 and three Sand Martins were noted going low > NE when leaving at the gate. At least three Willow Warblers were calling from the wood at dusk. A quiet evening!

Few Gulls > various.
