Comments: A poor morning for passerines, virtually absent after the initial rush. Waders quite at home tho below the low cloubase with a good snipe passage including a flock of 25, and all NW. Clear edge to cloudbase appearing far to north and through the drizzle, right across the sky but taking an age to move in our direction and in fact never reaching us. A skein of canadas NE out of Lancashire was interesting.

Comments: Single Redwing call well before sunrise from the low cloudbase at 0625 (LW) unfortunately just before I arrived. Otherwise a poor morning after yesterday with variable visibility but more Redpoll contacts were different. Even tried low watchpoint to get below the cloudbase which had dropped by 0700hr but to no avail. Eventually reasonable visibility did come back with increasing numbers of birds sneaking through the col but far too late in the day for me.
