Oxenhope Watchpoint looking NW

Dave, today`s report follows :-

07.15 hrs - 10.30 hrs. F3 NW. Oh what a difference a bit of visibility makes ! Today could view Ingleborough and Drax and could also see cloud banks over the North Sea .There was a beautiful sunrise and the cloudscape throughout the morning was superb - Altocumulus, Altocumulus Lenticularis, Velum and Cumumlus Congestus over North Sea.

This mornings watch was characterised by a significant movement of Woodpigeons West in first hour over Soil Hill,moving into Calderdale, a strong Chaffinch movement once again NW and two large skeins of Pink Footed Geese (circa 180 and 200) appearing over Oxenhope Moor (09.05 hrs & 09.20 hrs) and moving ESE over Ogden Water and beyond.

Chaffinch - 149 > NW
Greenfinch - 41 > NW
Goldfinch - 2 > W
Bullfinch - 2 superb males came into wood from high south - picked them up a long way out and followed in bins.
Starling - 34 > W (largest grouping 18)
Alba Wag - 6 > W
Reed Bunting - 5 > W
Snipe - 2 > SW
Fieldfare - 58 > SW
Redwing - 2 > SW
Pink Footed Geese - 380 > ESE in two skeins.
Woodpigeon - 189 > W, with 172 in first hour.
Jackdaw - 79 > W (one flock).
Cormorant - 1 > N
