Caldene Fields Watchpoint 04-11-2008

Caldene Fields, Low Moor, Bradford

A Slight NNE movement noted today.

4th November 08 Watch 07.00 – 08.45hr
Weather: A damp drizzly watch with 100% low cloud cover giving very gloomy conditions. A N/E F2 wind and a temp of 6c. Poor visibility staying at around 3 miles.

Comments: The small number of birds that were moving were moving with a Northerly bias particularly alba wagtail which showed well to the N/E. Fieldfares moved to the N/E as did the odd Greenfinch and a few Woodies went through to the N. Starling were moving and again a party of 41 moved to the N/E.

Moving Birds:

Black Headed Gull > 16 /W
Wood Pigeon > 43 N
Alba Wagtail > 44 N/E
Starling > 184 W/S/W + 41 N/E= 225
Fieldfare > 131 N/E
Redwing > 61 W/S/W + 9 N/E = 70
Greenfinch > 6 W/S/W + 3 N/E = 9
Goldfinch > 9 S

NE F2/3, 6degC, 200m Fog stratus... above the cloudbase, 8/8, QNH 1021 rising

Hello Dave - I tried again this morning. Was fogged off at Oxenhope and rained off at second choice Penistone Hill - just had 8 blogging Fieldfares and 3 blogging Redwings.

A poor do.
