Mega Move over Queensbury 12-10-2006

0630-onwards
Mipits piling over from first light with a few Redwings mixed in. By 0730 Redwings were coming over in good numbers. All birds were flying very direct and >S until mid morning when all movement stopped apart from a slight trickle of Mipits which were still coming over at 1700hrs.Unable to count as getting ready for and on way to work but in short time I had I clocked at least 500 Mipits and 200+ Redwing.

Thrushes Wilsden 11-10-2006

Just got back from my obligatory evening walk round the back lanes of Wilsden, West Yorks and report that first night time Redwings of this autumn overhead here tonight. Three contact calls heard and also a Song Thrush.
