Sky becoming scattered by noon then open by mid afternoon. winds almost calm or from an easterly quarter during the day with rising QNH through out. Nothing moving in the sky early evening except for a few Swallows but a couple of Redshank came in from the NE then left SW later on.... conditions during the hour after sunset were ideallic... you could hear for miles and miles! Another two seperate Redshank came over WSW calling from the black and a Common Sandpiper came in also from the NE calling all of the time and eventually also going off SW into the very slight wind.

Reva, Rombalds Moor.... fogged off! 08-09-2010

Fog dominated this morning's visit. Visibility on arrival at 08.00 was down to 100 feet. I stayed until 10.00 but only saw the reservoir for about five minutes when the mist thinned at about 09.30. At times, a light NE breeze came and went.

Bird totals as follows
Swallow 2 east
Meadow Pipit - one group of 28 north, 3 others went east.

The visibility had not improved by 10.00 so I left.

Local birds calling - Dunnock, Wren, Chaffinch, Little Owl.
