Spring!! at Chatsworth 30-03-2008

A nice early spring shot at Chatsworth House today - some cumulus starting to build. Had two Buzzards overhead here.

Variable F1, 6degC falling, Clear, 3/8, QNH 1001 rising strongly.

A big influx of mipits here today, many spread over various fields in groups. Also an influx of Pied Wagtails. Several groups of LBB Gulls going over high NW both in the afternoon and early evening.

WSW F6 gusting F8, 5degC rising, 6/8, vis 65km, QNH990 rising.

Overnight rain ceased, now just very windy. Meadow Pipits were the only moving birds and only during the first hour after sunrise. Some were going over like rockets high and disapearing to the north whilst others were cautiously struggling NW, low, in the lee of the embankment. Otherwise a birdless morning.
