1500 - 1630hr (DCB)
Weather and Sky:
A deteriorating afternoon with poor visibility, increasing wind and cloud, following bright and sunny earlier period with mainly open skies. Wind: W F5 gusting F7. Temp:6. Visibility: 10 - 20km max. Cloud: often dramatic and present at all levels with low fractus streaming off the moors, deep cumulus and high cirrus. Pressure:1035hpa slightly falling now but steady over last 24hr.
No passerines seen at all this afternoon. However, thousands of gulls arriving to roost on low approach, upto c7000 (seemed to be more Common Gulls this evening), mainly small gulls by 1615hr, but c 1500 leaving and going on to the NW after 1615hr at edge of darkness – only a very few of these seen returning.
