Oxenhope... windy wipeout! 01-11-2009

Oxenhope, Bradford (W Yorks, England)
Sunday 1 November 2009
Counting period: 13:00-15:00
Weather: SW F7 gusting F9, 13degC falling 11degC, 65km+, intermittent squalls, QNH 982 rising 986
Observers: Dave Barker

Moving Birds:
Starling - 9

Totals: 9 individuals, 1 species, 2:00 hours

Comments: An atrocious morning of very heavy rain with pressure falling from 999 at 0600 to trough out in conjunction with ceasing rain, wind swing and clearing skies at 982 upon my arrival. Watch picked up only one small group of Starlings struggling inches from the ground in the lee of the valley and NW against the side of the wood. No other birds seen. Tremendous sea on the water!
