29th of September 06 Watch from 7.30- 8.15
Weather: 60% clear skies with good visibility to 2 miles.

Comments: Only ¾ hour watch but a steady movement of Meadow pipits I suspect a longer watch would have produced many more Mipits, again many birds fairly high up.

Black Headed Gull 12>W
Meadow Pipit 267> S/S/E
Alba Wagtail 9> E

Friday 29th September 2006
0715 - 1000hr. (DCB, CK)
Weather and Sky:
A bright and sunny morning with mainly open sky and little wind. SSW F2 becoming S F2, 11 rising 14, Drax / Settle, Little cloud 2ok with some deeper cloud over western moors, overdrawing cirrus and cirrostratus, 1002hPa steady.

Again only a little mipit movement today with little wind and open skies. Very little mip vis overhead was heard suggesting again that little was missed through being high. Interestingly during the peak 0800hr movement slot about 100 pipits were feeding on the wave wall and embankment where copious insect activity was observed and present from early – an obvious feeding day here today in preference to moving – this must at least prove something?? Otherwise a few finches were in prominence moving west and many more were blogging about in the wood, seeming as influx. A Redstart was seen near the watchpoint and in the wood suggesting some suitability for night movement. Again there will be a series of day photos on Skyscapes:
