0740 - 1100hr HC / DCB
W F5 gusting, 3 > 8degC, 45km, 4/8, 1022 falling.

A dry but cold morning with milky skies and light (good for seeing the little vis that was going!). Mipits filtering thinly north throughout the morning but with more than half the total in the last hour in slackening winds and rising temperatures. A small flock of Twite - now a scarcity here passed through stop (feeding), start at c 0800hr and a couple of Linnets - the first of the year did similar a little later on. A long flying, sharp calling pipit sp (probably Water) was flushed from the conduit at c 0930hr, the bird was not relocated after flushing off far to the south east. A pair of Stonechats and a good selection of local birds brightened up the morning.
