Wilsden Tonight 26-08-2007

Sunset Tonight (c) 2007

1850 - 1950hr obs from home

WNW F3, 12degC, 3/8, Dry.

An improvement on last night after a better day with mipits and Mallard west again and a few Bradford bound Starlings. Four Lapwings were seen high > SE. There was no change with the House Martins and despite the trickle this morning no influx this evening. Again Sparrowhawk and Kestrel were in the sky but Woodpigeons were absent. The sunset was worth a photo tonight.

Birds this morning! with Swallows the most dramatic on approach from the east, with most passing low direct west. Going by the calls from the sky more went by than were seen. House Martins seemend to be drifting SE with a considerable number passing much higher than the Swallows and again more were heard than were seen. A few Meadow Pipits were on the Hill as were Skylarks. The scrub was empty except for a Little Owl on the wall.
