0720 – 1030hr
Weather and Sky:
An unpleasant grey morning, in total contrast to yesterday, deteriorating with rain from the NW by 1030hr. Wind: WNW F2 rising F4+. Temperature: +9degC rising +17degC. Visibility: haze – Leck Fell, Sandwith Moor, Drax all max. Cloud: 7ok various – mamatus at 1000hr. Pressure: 1027hPa steady.

A flat and quiet morning for the birds as well with very little moving. None of yesterdays Starling rush, with just a few moving through the plantations and in-bye. Otherwise only Lesser black backed Gulls and a few Swift seen passing over / through. Things on the change, in sympathy with the habitats up here though with Bullfinch, Whitethroat, Redstart, Whinchat and again Stonechat present.

Moving Birds:
Swift 12 > N – NW
Lesser Black-backed Gull 18 > NW
Rook 14 > S

Other:
See above and a total species list this am of only 29.
