Weather and Sky:
A static almost calm and dark morning (partial solar eclipse) with full cloud cover. Wind: WSW F2 to Calm. Temp: 10 remaining similar. Visibility: good. Cloud: stratus 8ok. Pressure: rising 1030hpa.

Long periods of almost calm with little seen on the move. Nearly all movement before 0830hr.

Moving birds:
Grey Heron 1
Jay 2
Cygnus spec. 11 > E (just after 0900hr)
Magpie 4 > E very high
Canada Goose 14
Starling 5
Kestrel 1
Chaffinch 3
Curlew 6
Greenfinch 32
Meadow Pipit 343 > S
Goldfinch 21
Stonechat 1
Redpoll 2
Thrush spec. 4
Total: 450 individuals, 15 species, 3:40 hours

if its of interest where we do ringing at Ripon there were quite a few skylarks going through and there appeared to have been a large influx of goldcrests.
