Comments: SW F 1 with visibilty to Leeds City centre and later to Drax. Wonderful fogscape to start the day, most valleys and col`s holding tentacles of fog stratus. General conditions far more conducive to bird passage and indeed had a pleasant birdy morning, with finches, alba wagtails and Skylarks very much to the fore, the latter being recorded from late morning as usual. Two Jays came thro` from the east and headed high west - n.b a report from GH that 20 Jays passed thro` Wharfedale during the morning. Three Terns also came in from the east and disappeared high towards Calderdale, but light conditions prevented a positive id. For once the Fog Stratus aided counting Mipits as the birds were clearly etched out against the grey background.
