Soil Hill 13-04-2009

Hauled myself out of bed early to be at Soil Hill by 7am, this is a sure sign of desperation.
As I arrived the mist came down.

Managed to see 2 female Wheatears, a few Skylarks
and that was it.

Trough Lane, Late afternoon, 2 female Wheatears.

0700 - 1000hr DB / HC
Calm rising ESE F3, 4degC, 100m - 3km max, 1/8, QNH 1013 falling.
SPRING WATCHPOINT: Great to be out but almost devoid of birds in the sky!! Initial dense fogs to the east of the watchpoint invading from time to time on the increasing ESE breeze but we always had vertical visibility. Both Airedale and Calderdale clagged with dense fog, so despite no birds, we probably made the best decision to visit here, on top of the fogs. Not a single moving mipit!!
Moving Birds in order of appearance:
Linnet 2 > N
Reed Bunting 3 > N
and thats it in the three full three hour period!
