Queensbury Swifts 08-08-2007

Just the 2 Swifts today Dave, 1 at lunch time >W and 1 tonight at 2015 >W. Also 2 House Martin >S also at 2015.

Plenty NW gulls passing as usual. All the Starlings that come over here on an evening are heading in the direction of Bradford. There are large numbers of Starlings during the day now on the rooftops which is usually a sign of them getting ready to move.

Wilsden Swifts 08-08-2007

1850 -2010hr
NW F3, 16degC, clear, 4okt, dry

Just a single Swift > W at 1940hr tonight. Otherwise a big clear out of birds in the sky this evening with hardly any Starlings going ESE to roost in comparison with the last few weeks. Also hardly any gulls going east to roost ditto. No change however with the NW tracking gulls which are still going strong. Anyone else notice change in the Starling population today?
